What a Nice Experience! (about: 2009)
Course: 5 Organization: 5 Fans: 4
This was a very well run marathon. Everything from the answers to my pre-race emails to the support on the course was done to perfection. There were plenty of porta-potties on the course, plenty of water, the elevation map was clear, the pre-race expo was a lot of fun, the giant finisher's medal was a kick and there was a nice, slightly downhill finish. The location of the start was great; I thoroughly enjoyed the area and the river area nearby was beautiful.

The Little Rock Marathon and companion races are running and walking tours of Arkansas' capitol city. When asked if there are hills in Little Rock, we love to affectionately say "What Hills?" There are some bumps in the road...but hey life is full of bumps in the road. We will have about 20 to 30 groups stationed along the course to cheer you on and take your mind off the road ahead.

  • Please limit the use of cell phones during the race.
  • Race officials will be stationed along the course to monitor the participants to ensure that each finisher has completed a full 26.2 miles (marathon/relay marathon) or full 13.1 miles (half marathon). ANY PARTICIPANT FOUND TO HAVE RUN/WALK LESS THAN THE FULL COURSE WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE RACE. DO NOT CROSS THE FINISH LINE IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THE ENTIRE COURSE.
  • Absolutely NO "coaches", bicycles, roller skates, roller blades, skateboards, baby joggers, or animals will be allowed on the racecourse at any time. Everyone on the course must have on an official race number. NO EXCEPTIONS
  • Assistance received from any other source than an official of the Little Rock Marathon may result in disqualification.
  • In some areas, only one side of the road is closed to vehicular traffic. As such, it is imperative that you stay within the cones marking the course. Any deviations from the marked course can result in a disqualification and serious injury.
  • Digital time clocks will be located at relay marathon exchange areas.
  • Visible mile markers and volunteers calling times will be positioned along the course at every mile.
  • Digital clocks at the Finish Line will display your unofficial time.
  • Unofficial results will be posted to the website by 9 p.m. on race evening. Results will not be official for two weeks - depending on the accuracy of our timing company.
  • The Little Rock Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifying event. Please see their website for specifics on qualifying.
